The Studio
The Studio is a quirky, one-bedroom sanctuary designed for solo travelers or couples seeking a unique, contemporary retreat. The space blends modern architecture with traditional Rwandan textures, creating an intimate sanctuary that feels deeply connected to the lake.
The open-plan layout features a Queen bed and a kitchenette, opening onto a private terrace with striking pink outdoor seating—the perfect spot for volcano watching. A unique highlight is the bathroom, which opens into a secluded outdoor shower, offering a private way to connect with the landscape. Whether you are here for a focused creative retreat or a quiet escape, the Studio offers a peaceful, self-contained space with a character all its own.

❋ Outdoor showerOne of the best things about the Studio is the outdoor shower with views of the volcano through the eucalyptus tree fence. Hearing the birds as you shower.
❋ Open-plan livingIt’s a studio style so one big open space with the bed, dining area, kitchenette and sunken small bathtub are all in the same open plan space overlooking the Virungas.
❋ Self-cateringThis is a self-catering property, designed for independent stays. While we do not provide meals, you’ll have access to an equipped kitchenette with an electric hob to prepare your own food at your convenience. There are also a number of local restaurants within walking distance.
❋ Wi-FiThere is Starlink wi-fi available at the property.
❋ CanoeingTwo 2-seater canoes are available free of charge and can be prepared and carried down to the lake on request (Limited availability). This offers guests the freedom to explore the twin lakes at their own pace and in their own time. As this is an unsupervised activity, confident swimming ability is required.
Your Arrival.
Your stay begins on the water. We invite you to leave the noise behind at the boating pier, where our team will meet you, assist with your luggage, and take you on a stunning 10-minute boat ride across Lake Ruhondo to the property.
The cost of your boat transfer both ways is included in your booking, and we provide a dedicated guard at the pier to watch over your car for the duration of your stay.
Simply coordinate your arrival time with us in advance, and we will ensure the boat and our team are ready to welcome you. Upon reaching the peninsula, there is a short, brisk climb to the property. While the walk is steep, it is the secret to our unparalleled views of the volcanoes. Our team will be on hand to take the weight of your bags, leaving you free to enjoy the walk up.
